Smurfs fans break world record,Smurfs movie is an upcoming action 3D animated family film directed by Raja Gosnell, written by J. David Stem and David N. Weiss, and casting of the film is Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Hank Azaria and Sofia Vergara, with the voices of Jonathan Winters, Katy Perry, Jeff Foxworthy, Paul Reubens, Alan Cumming, and George Lopez. Produced by Jordan Kerner, the film will be distributed by Columbia Pictures.

This film is the first CGI / live-action hybrid film in the franchise Smurfs. After five years of negotiations, Kerner bought the rights in 2002 and was developing with Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies and Columbia Pictures through Sony Pictures Entertainment has acquired the film rights in 2008. The shooting of this film began March 26, 2010 in New York. The release date for this film has been postponed twice, and now the film is scheduled for August 3, 2011.

The film is set during the Middle Ages, the evil wizard Gargamel role played by Hank Azaria and his cat, Azrael, discover Smurf village and lead them in some woods. The Smurfs are distributed and the voice Smurf awkward given by Anton Yelchin wanders into a "forbidden" cave and some of the other Smurfs follow.
